Third kit ordered/sent (to a descendant of William SINTON & Isobel BLACK).
A son John was born to them at Southdean in 1780.
(Subsequently withdrew from project - still looking for another representative for this line)

First set of results (12/37 marker) received (no SINTON surname matches in ftDNA database)

Dec 06, 2007: 2nd kit en route to lab

Second kit on its way back to lab

Nov 28, 2007: 1st kit back at lab

First kit back to lab, full results expected end Jan 2008

Second kit sent out - to a descendant of James SINTON and Margaret WILKIE, James being a son of Peter SINTON and Janet DONALDSON.
These first two kits will hopefully provide a good benchmark for the Southdean lineage of Peter SINTON and Janet DONALDSON.

27th: WorldFamilies Network pages created

Set up the World Family Network pages which gives access to Surname (SINTON) and general DNA research forums, and another set of (free) web page space where pedigrees will be lodged, and results expanded on.

2nd: SINTON DNA Project initiated

The SINTON Family DNA Project initiated by Lorna Henderson, a descendant of Peter SINTON and Janet DONALDSON from the Scottish Borders.
Objective is to determine whether or not the assorted SINTON lines are connected, particularly those around Southdean in Roxburghshire, but any other SINTONs, or those suspecting SINTON links, are welcome to join in the fun.
